WEST TEXAS TOWN: Lubbock’s Brenham Crouch Bringing High Limit Close to Home in Amarillo on Friday
CJB Motorsports Driver Excited to Compete in West Texas' Biggest Event
AMARILLO, TEX. (March 26, 2026) – A resident of Brownsburg, Indiana these days, West Texas will always be home for Brenham Crouch. Born and raised in Lubbock, the 20-year-old grew up going to Amarillo almost every weekend to watch his family race at Route 66 Motor Speedway, but believe it or not, he’s never turned a lap himself at the track.
His grandpa is a winning car owner there, his dad Leighton won his share behind the wheel, and his brother Brekton - who will be racing alongside him on Friday - has even visited victory lane. Brenham finally gets his chance this Friday night when he brings Interstate Batteries High Limit Racing to town for one of the biggest events in track history. The CJB Motorsports pilot is confident it can produce yet another thriller on FloRacing.
“It’s funny because I know the place like the back of my hand, but I’ve never raced on it,” Crouch said. “The track is really cool with a nice shape and if we get enough moisture in it, it’ll race well I think. It reminds me a little bit of like a small Lernerville (Penn.) with a backstretch wall. It’s pretty banked and you carry quite a bit of speed. You can throw big bombs and guys have a tendency to fall off the edge of turn four like you see at Lernerville. It tends to get absolutely slick, I’ve seen it turn to black ice so many times.”
Growing up in West Texas, the idea of such a big event coming to town was inconceivable to young Brenham. Fast forward to today and within the last calendar year, Route 66 Motor Speedway will have hosted major races with the USMTS Modifieds, USAC National Sprint Cars, and now High Limit Racing with stars like Rico Abreu, Tyler Courtney, Giovanni Scelzi, Tanner Thorson, Brent Marks, and many more debuting at the track.
An opportunity to race in front of so many family members and friends is an opportunity that Brenham has been looking forward to ever since the schedule dropped. He’s already prepared for a jam-packed pit area around the Horizon Whiskey No. 5.
Earning 12 top-10 finishes and a trio of top-five results last year with High Limit, Crouch’s 2026 has gotten off to a slower start as he adjusts to working with new crew chief Tyler Swank. The optimist he is, Crouch is focused on getting 1% better each day - and he heads to Amarillo after making his first Dash of the year last week in Arizona.
“We were not anywhere near where he would have liked to start in Vegas, but I think we have adjusted well since getting out of there,” he said of his season so far. “I think we’re definitely moving in the right direction, we haven’t taken any steps back since we started and that’s a good way to look at it. We’re improving our conversations and feedback, and starting to gel better together as a team. I think I got really used to driving with Barry [Jackson], so we need to find a middle ground between Tyler and myself to get the most out of each other and that just takes time.”
Amarillo’s Route 66 Motor Speedway will become the third track in Texas to host Interstate Batteries High Limit Racing - joining DFW area venues Texas Motor Speedway and RPM Speedway.
On Friday, pit pass sales begin at 2pm with the front gates scheduled to open at 5pm. Tickets are available for purchase by CLICKING HERE.
