THE PERFECT FIT: Brad Sweet Finds Exactly What He’s Looking For with Paul Silva & Kevin Kozlowski

"The Big Cat" Makes His Season Debut with High Limit This Weekend at Central Arizona Raceway

CASA GRANDE, ARIZ. (March 18, 2026) – On Thursday night when Brad Sweet climbs aboard the Kevin Kozlowski owned W machine, it will be the first time in 994 races and more than 6,000 days since he competed in a national sprint car series event for someone other than Kasey Kahne; truly marking the end of an era.

With the six-time national champion wrapping up his full-time driving career at the end of 2025, he hoped to find a situation that allowed him to focus on outside adventures while still being competitive when he was able to race. A 30-ish race slate with Paul Silva and Kevin Kozlowski fit that mold exactly.

“I really wanted to find something that worked for the way I wanted to structure my life with more focus on High Limit, Silver Dollar Speedway, spending more time with family, and less travel,” Brad said. “With Paul’s shop being in Sacramento and Kevin wanting to race the W more on the west coast, it really felt like a perfect fit. Paul presented me with these 30 or so races around Kyle’s schedule and it penciled out great I thought. I get to run all the big races still and race close to home quite a bit, too. I get to work with people that have the same passion, experience, and goals as me. It’s definitely different from what I’ve been doing in the past, but I’m excited for the change.”

The pairing has already found immediate success together - winning the NARC King of the West Sprint Car Series season opener at Merced Speedway in February. Up next is this weekend’s Cactus Classic at Central Arizona Raceway for his first of 13 attempts with Interstate Batteries High Limit Racing this season. He’ll also run the Joker’s Jackpot at Eldora Speedway along with the majority of High Limit’s west coast swing which features the Gold Cup Race of Champions at Silver Dollar Speedway and Skagit Nationals at Skagit Speedway.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest point-racers of all-time, “The Big Cat” is looking forward to the change of pace that teaming with Silva and Kozlowski gives him, which is the ability to focus more on winning and less on consistency.

“Not having the pressure of points racing and showing up with the sole goal of winning races already feels nice,” he added. “We can try a few more things with the car and I can maybe try some different things on the track. Obviously you never want to wreck or tear stuff up, so we’re not gonna start taking crazy risks, bouncing off the wall, and pulling stupid moves, but I like not having to worry about top-fives or good finishes anymore. This is a good opportunity for me to remember why I went to the track in the first place and fell in love with the sport.”

Returning to Casa Grande as the most recent High Limit winner, Sweet was strong in his track debut last year with a fourth-place finish and victory over his then boss and teammate, Kasey Kahne. He’ll have three chances this weekend to clear 100+ High Limit starts and add his 15th career win or more.

“There is a lot of uniqueness to this place with the soil in the dirt, the shape of the track, and the hot temperatures this weekend will be another factor in all that,” he said about Central Arizona. “They’ve been changing the track with the wall, the backstretch gate, and lots of things to improve the facility as a whole. Unloading with speed, finding a comfortable spot, and keeping track position will be big here. The track changes pretty quick and it slicks off quickly. Hopefully we can have another great three nights of racing and hopefully get a W with the W car.”
