MORE TO PROVE: Rico Abreu Ready to Defend High Limit Title with Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing

MOORESVILLE, NC. (March 8, 2026) – If you ask Rico Abreu what’s better than one championship with Interstate Batteries High Limit Racing, he’ll quickly tell you the answer is two. Scoring last year’s title in an all-time great points battle down the stretch filled him with immense joy and pride after what felt like the culmination of his career. Now, it’s a feeling he never wants to relinquish and particularly one he wants to experience with Tony Stewart by his side.

Dropping a bombshell in the middle of September last year, Rico and “Smoke” announced that Abreu would drive for Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing in pursuit of the 2026 High Limit championship. Six months later, we finally get to see the pairing debut this week at Las Vegas Motor Speedway’s SugarBee Blackjack Bash.

While the label is now under TSR and the #24 rocks Carquest’s red, white, and blue colors, the core of Rico’s championship team from a year ago is all still the same. His Hall of Fame crew chief Ricky Warner, trusty car chief Zack Middlebrooks, and exuberant tire specialist Brady Forbrook all remain in his corner with the benefit of adding Todd Devnich as shop manager in Brownsburg, IN.

A full-fledged supporter of High Limit Racing since day two we’ll say, Abreu has competed in all 108 events since 2023 - only ever missing the inaugural exhibition race in 2022. Since then, he’s either first or second in every major statistical category. He’s the all-time feature starts leader (108), the all-time wins leader (25), the all-time podiums leader (45), second in all-time top fives (54), and the all-time top-10s leader (83).

Finishing second in both the Kings Royals and the Knoxville Nationals, one of Abreu’s biggest goals heading into 2026 is securing the crown jewel victories that he desires most. With Warner by his side, the St. Helena, California native has upped his game on the biggest stages in recent years - adding Skagit Nationals, Tuscarora 50, and 360 Nationals titles to his resume.

Along with his crown jewel desires and championship hopes, improving all of his numbers is at the top of the bucket list. From his 21 overall victories a year ago, 13 of those came in High Limit competition at tracks including Texas, Lakeside, Kokomo, Grandview, Red Cedar, Lucas Oil, Skagit, Lawrenceburg, and Eldora - all of which return to the schedule in 2026.

One benefit to mention this season is Abreu only visits seven tracks for the first time in his career - Route 66 (Tex.) Motor Speedway on March 27, Davenport (Iowa) Speedway on June 1, Gondik Law (Wisc.) Speedway on June 4, I-94 emr (Minn.) Speedway on June 5, Dacotah (N.D.) Speedway on June 6, Shelby County (Iowa) Speedway on June 11, and Stateline (N.Y.) Speedway on July 24.

Rico’s 2026 Interstate Batteries High Limit Racing season officially opens with the SugarBee Blackjack Bash at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on March 12-14 during NASCAR weekend. The 65-race tour will criss-cross the country for eight months before concluding with the All-In Championship Weekend at Texas Motor Speedway on October 16-17. Fans can buy pre-sale event tickets, which enters you for a chance to be selected for the DURST Dice Roll, by clicking here.

Their finish this year will combine with last year (1st) to determine the 2027 card rankings when the value of the top-10 cards jump to a total of $2,925,000 and the top ranked membership escalates to $500,000 - making every single point extra valuable.
