MAKING MOVES: Brent Marks’ Championship Desires Fueled by New Look, New People, New Mindset
MOORESVILLE, NC. (March 5, 2026) – While the man behind the wheel is still the same, Brent Marks has essentially overhauled his No. 19 operation with one goal in mind: winning a national championship with Interstate Batteries High Limit Racing.
“Around the middle of last summer when we almost took the championship lead is when I really realized okay we can do this,” Marks said. “I know that we can make it happen with the right people in place and that’s what I’m working towards. I’ve set goals all throughout my life and career, and this is what I want next. First, I wanted to build Brent Marks Racing into what it is today, and secondly, I wanted to win a bunch of races and become a top tier team. Now, I want to win a championship because I know we can.”
From personnel changes to new partnerships - and even a full embrace of the eye-catching yellow - it was a busy off-season for the 35-year-old native of Myerstown, Pennsylvania. He’s already been on-track this season with five World of Outlaws starts under his belt at Florida’s Volusia Speedway Park - earning two front row starts and two top-10 finishes.
“We made a lot of changes within the team and moved some guys around,” he mentioned. “I’m doing everything I possibly can to put this team into championship contention from every angle. Unfortunately, sometimes things need to change for that to happen. It’s a different mindset you need and I think we are heading down the right path with Logan Fenton coming on board.”
It all goes back to last June when Marks was five-points away from taking the title lead. Ultimately, summer struggles set in and Marks finished the year third in the driver standings and fifth in the owner standings - 215-points behind Rico Abreu’s No. 24.
Still, a career-best five national victories last year saw Marks break through for wins all around the country. His High Limit scores came in the south (Texas Motor Speedway), in the heartland (Lakeside Speedway & Lucas Oil Speedway), at home (Port Royal Speedway), and on the west coast (Douglas County Dirtrack) for the first time in his career.
“We can obviously win races, but wanting to win a championship requires totally different thinking,” he continued. “At the end of the day, I don’t feel like the changes we made this off-season were that drastic, but they were needed to push us over the edge. All of our equipment is the same and I’m obviously the same behind the wheel. It’s just about reworking the structure of our organization and intentionally building this into a championship team.”
One aspect in his championship desires that could loom large this season is 10 scheduled races in his home state of Pennsylvania - more importantly, eight of those being at Port Royal Speedway. Marks is a 16-time winner at “The Speed Palace” and no stranger to topping their crown jewel events like the Bob Weikert Memorial (May 22-24) and Tuscarora 50 (September 10-12).
Brent’s 2026 Interstate Batteries High Limit Racing season officially opens with the SugarBee Blackjack Bash at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on March 12-14 during NASCAR weekend. The 65-race tour will criss-cross the country for eight months before concluding with the All-In Championship Weekend at Texas Motor Speedway on October 16-17. Fans can buy pre-sale event tickets, which enters you for a chance to be selected for the DURST Dice Roll, by clicking here.
Earning the fourth ranked membership across the 2024-25 seasons, Brent Marks Racing holds the ‘Jack’ card, worth a guaranteed $280,000 payout in the inaugural season of the High Roller Club. Their finish this year will combine with last year to determine the 2027 card rankings when the value of the top-10 cards jump to a total of $2,925,000 - making every single point extra valuable.
