TRENDING UP: Brenham Crouch Showing Progress with the Right People at CJB Motorsports

MOORESVILLE, NC. (February 27, 2026) – The numbers don’t lie when it comes to Brenham Crouch’s year-over-year improvement with Interstate Batteries High Limit Racing. It’s a trend the 20-year-old Lubbock, Texas native hopes to build on in his third full-time season with the series, now surrounded by several all-star personalities of sprint car racing.

“I think so much of my growth can be attributed to the people around me,” Crouch said. “Between my dad [Leighton], Barry [Jackson], Paul [McMahan], and all of the great equipment that Chad [Clemens] provides, it’s a recipe for success eventually. It helped that last year around Skagit we figured out some stuff with our Kistler [engines] and I felt way more confident and comfortable. Barry was great at keeping me accountable and always communicating, too. The message was mistakes are going to happen, it’s just about learning from it, fixing it, and moving forward together as a team. We all have a common goal here, so let’s unload every night better than we were yesterday.”

The proof is right there in the results for Crouch. In 2024, he jumped onto the High Limit scene in his family-owned No. 1 following an IRA championship the year before. That first national touring season produced two top-10 finishes and a 16th-place finish in the driver points, numbers that were vastly different in 2025 aboard the CJB Motorsports No. 5. In his new ride, he climbed to eighth in the driver points while collecting 12 top-10 results and venturing into the top-five and onto the podium for the first time.

Under the tutelage of National Sprint Car Hall of Famer Paul McMahan, and led on the road by legendary crew chief Barry Jackson - a future Hall of Famer in his own right - Crouch experienced his best national successes yet. He earned his first-career top-five at the Skagit Nationals in Washington and followed that with a wildly impressive podium result against a stacked field during Port Royal Speedway’s Tuscarora 50 weekend.

Heading into year three with the series, it’s all about keeping up with that constant improvement.

“Me, personally, I would love to knock off a couple of wins since we were close last year,” Crouch said on his 2026 expectations. “I need to fix some things on my end because I think most nights the car carried me to good results, but I prepped a lot over the off-season to change that. At the end of the day, continually improving is what matters most. If we can be better at the end of the year than we are right now, then I’ll be proud. We are racing against an incredible field of drivers and teams, but we have a great group with great chemistry so I’m excited for the challenge.”

A new plus this season is the addition of a teammate to lean on. In fact, a teammate that is one of the greatest sprint car drivers of all-time, Donny Schatz. Hired by Chad Clemens to turn CJB Motorsports into a two-car effort and paired with Barry Jackson on the World of Outlaws tour, Schatz and his 10-time championship pedigree has already been useful for Crouch.

“You know I’d never actually talked to Donny before our team dinner at Volusia, so it was nice to get to know him away from the track,” Brenham added. “He was very open with wanting to help me when he could. He already put some things in a different perspective than I was used to seeing in the car and it helped me approach a few situations differently. We had a ton more speed on Saturday compared to where we started Wednesday. That’s one of the many benefits of being able to pick his brain. I mean what an incredible tool to have in your back pocket. I want to take full advantage of the resources around me.”

Aligned with his own experienced crew, Crouch will have veteran crew chief Tyler Swank turning the wrenches on his No. 5 this season. Swank, a beloved and colorful character in the pit area, has previously worked with notable names like Schatz, David Gravel, Sheldon Haudenschild, Ian Madsen, Terry McCarl, Kerry Madsen, and more. They’ll also have Jared Goodling on the team, who comes straight from multiple seasons with Brent Marks Racing.

Earning the 10th ranked membership across the 2024-25 seasons, CJB Motorsports holds the ‘5 card’ worth a guaranteed $150,000 payout in the inaugural season of the High Roller Club. Their finish this year will combine with last year to determine the 2027 card rankings when the value of the top-10 cards jump to a total of $2,925,000 - making every single point extra valuable.

Brenham’s 2026 Interstate Batteries High Limit Racing season officially opens with the SugarBee Blackjack Bash at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on March 12-14 during NASCAR weekend.
