Kerry Madsen and Vermeer Motorsports Commit to Kubota High Limit Racing Full-Time in 2026 & 2027
The High Limit Room will once again feature international flavor next season as Kerry Madsen of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia has committed to a full-time run with Kubota High Limit Racing for car owner Tony Vermeer.
While Madsen is a resident of Knoxville, Iowa these days, the team will be based out of Central Pennsylvania as new crew chief Tye Wolfgang spearheads the operation of the Vermeer Motorsports No. 55. The up-and-coming mechanic recently was part of Brad Sweet's 2023 World of Outlaws championship and 2024 High Limit Racing title before beginning his career as the head wrench.
Widely regarded as one of the greatest Sprint Car drivers to hail from "The Land Down Under," the 55-year-old Madsen has most notably won the Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic - Australia's version of the Knoxville Nationals - on three occasions. He's also topped the Australian Sprintcar Championship - a race for countrymen to battle for the right to run the No. A1 - a whopping four times at three different tracks.
Madsen's success has never been restricted to the borders of Australia, though. Since coming to America for the first time in the early 1990s, he's amassed a resume that includes 28 World of Outlaws victories - ranking him 25th all-time. When it comes to major events, he earned the right to be called "King Kerry the 31st" with a Kings Royal score in 2014 and he's also topped the 360 Knoxville Nationals to go with three podiums in 16 starts at "The Granddaddy of 'Em All."
The Vermeer Motorsports No. 55 team is one of two teams - also the Randerson Racing No. 24D with Danny Sams III - to commit to chasing new membership with the High Roller Club in 2026 and 2027. The original 10 membership cards currently belong to Rico Abreu/Curb-Agajanian Racing, Kasey Kahne Racing w/ Mike Curb, Clauson-Marshall Racing, Murray-Marks Motorsports, Ridge & Sons Racing, Jason Meyers Racing, Buch Motorsports, Rudeen Racing, Rod Gross Motorsports, and CJB Motorsports.
Madsen's 2026 campaign with Kubota High Limit Racing officially begins with a trip to Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the Blackjack Bash on March 12-14. The 65-race coast-to-coast slate will wrap up with the All-In Championship Weekend at Texas Motor Speedway on October 16-17.
Before his championship chase begins in March, Madsen will also run the second annual High Limit International event at Western Australia's Perth Motorplex on December 28-30. He's one of 30+ Aussies set to take a on a squad of 10+ Americans heading over in pursuit of a $110,000 AUD check - the richest payday in the history of Australian Sprint Car Racing.
