Kasey Kahne Claims October's Cometic Gasket Crew Chief of the Month Award
Ironically enough, the final Cometic Gasket Crew Chief of the Month Award with Kubota High Limit Racing went to the defending champion car owner, who started the year as a full-time driver, before picking up the wrenches mid-season.
Earning 341 points, topping Ricky Warner by only three, Kasey Kahne claimed the $500 bonus for the month of October thanks to a perfect five top-10 finishes in five races by Brad Sweet aboard the NAPA Auto Parts No. 49. The highlight down the stretch was a win at Lakeside Speedway on October 11, Kahne's first official national victory as crew chief to go along with 200+ as car owner at KKR.
Kahne is the seventh man to earn the monthly award through two seasons with Kubota High Limit Racing. He follows in the footsteps of Eric Prutzman (5), Ricky Warner (4), Jake Argo (2), Brent Ventura (1), Tye Wolfgang (1), and Stevie Smith (1).
Kasey himself is the third crew chief to score the honor while working on Brad Sweet's No. 49 as 2024 Cometic Gasket Crew Chief of the Year, Eric Prutzman, and Tye Wolfgang did as well.
