Dirt Draft Hot Laps
Every High Limit Racing event will begin with Hot Laps which are essentially practice sessions for the drivers. All cars will come onto the race track for three-to-five laps of practice.
Capitol Custom Trailers Qualifying
Qualifying formats can vary depending on how many teams are competing during a specific race night. If there are 32 or more teams, High Limit Racing will "split" the field in half for Qualifying. "Flight A" is the first half of that split with that group of teams Qualifying only against each other and "Flight B" is the other half, again Qualifying only agaist the other teams in that flight.
If there are 31 or less teams in the field, all will Qualify against each other.
During Qualifying, two cars will be on the track at the same time, each attempting to circle the track as fast as possible. They are not competing or passing each other, but trying to set the fastest speed around the track. High Limit Racing officials record the fastest single lap time of each car and will utilize the order of those times to set the starting order of Heat Races.
Heat Races
Heat Races are short, typically 8-lap races with smaller fields. The starting line-ups for these events are set by how the drivers qualified. The finishing order of Heat Races will determine where a driver will start in the feature event or B-Main later in the night.
Heat Races are lined up off of the Qualifying results, with a twist. High Limit Racing relegates the fastest Qualifier to the fourth starting position for the Heat Race. The rest of the Heat Race lineup is determined directly off of Qualifying results.
Much like Qualifying, Heat Races could be different depending on how many drivers are in the field for that particular night. If there are 32 or more teams then there will be four Heat Races, with the top five finishers transferring to the night's feature event.
If there are 31 or less teams, there will be three Heat Races, with the top six finishers transferring to the night's feature event.
If a driver finishes outside of the top five or top six, depending on format, they will transfer to the night's B-Main event, with one final opportunity to start in the feature.
Another important detail of the Heat Races is which drivers will go to the FK Rod Ends Dash. The Heat Race winner and the fastest Qualifier in each Heat (as long as he or she also finishes in the top five or top six) will automatically transfer to the Dash.
If the Fastest Qualifier in the Heat does not finish in the top five or top six, then the Heat Race winner and the second-place finisher will go to the Dash.
If the Heat Race winner is also the Fastest Qualifier, he or she will receive the "Ace in the Hole," which means he or she will start on the pole of the Dash.
FK Rod Ends Dash
Depending on the amount of teams, there could be a different number of cars in the Dash. If there are 32 or more teams, the Dash will consist of eight cars. If there are 31 or less, there will be six cars.
The Dash's starting line-up is determined by the Roulette Redraw Wheel. The driver who spins the lowest number will be on the pole of the Dash, the second lowest number will start second, etc.
The Dash is seven laps and the finishing order of the Dash will set the starting lineup for the first 3 or 4 rows of the feature event, depending on how many cars were in the Dash.
Winters B-Main
-The 12-lap B-Main consists of the drivers who did not transfer to the feature from the Heat Races.
The top-four finishers from the B-Main will then transfer to the feature and start in positions 21-24. If a driver does not finish inside of the top-four in the B-Main their race night is over.
Feature Event
-The Feature Event is the final, and most important, race of the night. Depending on track size, the Feature can range from 25 to 40 laps.
The Feature will consist of 24 cars, with the starting order as follows:
Dash drivers, Heat Race transfers and then B-Main transfers. There is the potential of teams that did not transfer to the Feature choosing to use a provisional and starting at the rear of the field.
The winner of the Feature is the winner of the entire race night and collects the highest purse and the highest amount of season-long championship points.
